Visiting any church for the first time can make you a little apprehensive...Where do I go? What should I wear? What time do I show up? What's here for my kids? These questions and many more may surface as you pull into the parking lot. Well, we hope that your first visit to Faith Baptist Church will put your mind at ease. We want you to experience helpful teaching and preaching, music that honors God, friendly people, and a place you can feel at home. Here are a few answers to questions you might have on your first visit to our church.
1. How do I get there?
We are located at 1798 Arizona Ave. just past 16th St. You can't miss the big brown building with our sign right out front. We are excited about recently moving to this location and look forward to improving the outside of our property as well as continuing to remodel the interior of our building. As you approach the front door (which you will pass as you drive onto the property) one of our hospitality greeters or ushers can direct you to the right classes and services. They can also answer any other questions you may have.
2. What is here for my kids?
Starting with our excellent nursery, there is something special for every age from birth through highschool! At every service on Sunday morning and Wednesday night, there is a safe, clean, and highly staffed nursery for children three years old and younger. For children four years old through the sixth grade there are fun, friendly, and Bible centered classes. These classes are
staffed with trained, friendly, and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exiting and memorable for your child. For students in the seventh throught the 12th grades, there is an exciting youth class during Sunday School and then the teens meet with the adults for the morning worship service.
3. What are the service schedules?
Sunday school classes begin at 10:00 a.m. The morning worship service begins at 11:00. Our Sunday evening service is at 6:00 p.m. and our Wednesday night Bible study and individual classes are at 7:00 p.m.
4. What's on the schedule for adults, and what should I expect?
Most adults attend our worship service where they enjoy the beautiful and inspiring music of the choir and other musicians. The music is always followed by a clear, helpful, and challenging Bible message from Pastor Goetsch. This service is usually a little over one hour in length. We would encourage you also to visit our adult Sunday School class which meets in the main auditorium. Pastor Goetsch is teaching a series of lessons on the home, and this is also a great time to get to know many of the other adults in our church.
5. How should I dress?
There is not a dress code at Faith Baptist Church for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at Faith Baptist!
6. Am I expected to participate in the offering?
No. We don't invite you to Faith Baptist Church for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God's Word, and a place where you can grow in God's grace. Please don't feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.
