When he was just a five year old boy, Pastor John Goetsch, Jr. accepted Christ as his Savior during one of his father's revival meetings.  He was raised in an evangelist's home and was privileged to see God work in revival meetings across the country, as well as learning many valuable lessons about the ministry.

Knowing that God was calling him to ministry, he moved to Lancaster, CA, to attend West Coast Baptist College, and graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor's Degree in Church Ministries.

During his last year in Bible college, John Goetsch, Jr. pastored the First Baptist Church in Boron, CA, and stayed for the next three years to help the church get back on their feet, and find a permanent pastor to serve there.  

In 2001, he and his family moved to Fresno, CA, to be an assistant pastor to Chuck Miller at Faith Baptist Church while waiting on God's timing to go into full-time evangelism, and in 2005 the Goetsches started traveling as a family across the country preaching revival meetings.

During their time of traveling the Goetsches came to Faith Baptist Church in Yuma many times to fill in for services while they were searching for a pastor.  God knit the hearts of the people of Faith Baptist to this family and several years later they called on John Goetsch, Jr. to consider candidating to be their pastor.

Always open to God's call and timing, Pastor Goetsch prayerfully considered the call, and on Sunday, April 5, 2009, the Goetsches came to candidate.

On April 26th, 2009, Faith Baptist Church of Yuma voted unanimously to accept John Goetsch, Jr. to be their pastor, and he and his family moved to Yuma during the first week of May.

Pastor Goetsch has a passion to preach the Word of God, a desire to see Christ lifted up above all else, a burden to strengthen families in a world that tries to tear the family apart, and a compassion to reach the people of Yuma for God's glory.

He and his wife, April, have been married for 10 years, and they have four children--three daughters and a son. Pastor Goetsch's third daughter, Mollie, was born June 7, 2010.
